This vacancy note concerns an onsite consulting position at ESRIN in Frascati, Italy. Cloud Platform Engineer 1998060 Job Description We are looking to expand our current team supporting our customer the European Space Agency at their establishment in Frascati Italy. You will provide support in the area of cloud computing and platforms for a wide variety of Earth Observation data exploitation projects. The aim of these projects is to define, develop and maintain cloud infrastructures that can support endusers to better exploit the vast amounts of EO data currently collected by the Agency. This includes providing access to data, processing tools and computing resources in an ecosystem of cloud environments. Typical tasks include Support the identification of use cases and business models Support the review of proposed architectures Support the development and integration of new solutions with IaaS and PaaS providers Support the validation of developed solutions Support the evaluation of performances of different environments Required Skills and Experience University degree in Computer Science, GeoInformatics or a technical field providing similar competences 2 to 4 years of professional experience working in the field of Cloud Computing 2 years of experience in the following areas Highthroughput computing High performance computing Cloud computing stack Big data or other distributed computing technologies Desirable Skills and Experience Knowledge of one or more of the Copernicus DIAS Knowledge of GPU management and provisioning on a cloud environment Knowledge of ITIL or similar IT service management practices Work Location Frascati, Italy Dates Application Deadline 17 January 2020 Start of Work July 2020 Important Notes Before applying to this position, please read the page Notes to Applicants on the Solenix website under Career.
