A fresh fuss about a requirement in the Dairy Industry Restructuring Act for Fonterra to supply competitors with regulated price milk is being called an engineered sideshow and a distraction from the company's low milk price and downgraded dividend. The state of competition in the dairy industry is currently under review by the Primary Industries Ministry and the Commerce Commission.
