Dropping Oil Prices Forcing Hundreds of Layoffs in South Texas

A worldwide oil glut has driven prices down by more than half since last summer, and that impact is being felt down here in South Texas, with layoffs starting to trickle in by the hundreds in the oil and gas industry. The oil services company Schlumberger has announced that they are laying off 9,000 employees nationwide.
