Key Tasks and Responsibilities As part of the Earth Observation team at ESAESTEC, you will have the following responsibilities Support the exploitation studies funded through the SMOS project Support the preparation of SMOS publications and presentations Support the implementation of new studies related to the SMOS mission Support the analysis of SVRT results obtained over oceans and DOMEC Support future work on the SMOS L2 ocean salinity processor Support the preparation of SoW and implementation for SMOS Ice II Support the preparation and implementation of SMOS Permafrost Support STSE project preparation and management Support internal projects Support the Changing Earth SciNET. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience PhD in geophysical sciences e.g. oceanography, meteorology, physics, mathematics or engineering Strong background in satellite remote sensing using Lband radiometry Handson experience with SMOS L1 and L2 data processing Knowledge of and experience with the STSE programme Programming skills and a good knowledge of relevant software packages The ability to work both autonomously and as a part of a team Fluency in English, knowledge of another European language is an advantage.
