We are currently looking for an Earth Observation Software Engineer to support our customer in Germany. Earth Observation Software Engineer Key Tasks and Responsibilities EUMETSAT Technical and Scientific Support Department provide support to operations of existing satellite systems and to the development of new programmes. Part of the team you will be responsible for maintenance and evolution line Ground Segment elements such as calibration and validation data visualisation auxiliary data management services Development of product quality monitoring Instrument and product monitoring and reporting functions. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience Experience in SW and system design, SW development, operation, maintenance and troubleshooting of large complex realtime data processing systems for Earth Observation missions Competence in objectoriented software design and implementation possibly in the context of satellite instrument data processing systems CC programming language experience in a UNIXLINUX based environment Use of and application programming of database systems e.g. ORACLE, INFORMIX, PostgreSQL and MySQL Competence in the use of scripting languages e.g., shell scripting, PERL, highlevel languages e.g., Python, Java and correspondent use of their libraries. Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. This job is located in Darmstadt.
