000 ABPZ20 KNHC 191147 TWOEP Tropical Weather Outlook NWS National Hurricane Center Miami FL 500 AM PDT Tue Sep 19 2017 For the eastern North Pacific...east of 140 degrees west longitude: The National Hurricane Center is issuing advisories on recently downgraded Tropical Depression Norma, located a few hundred miles west-southwest of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula, and on Tropical Storm Otis, located more than 1000 miles west of the southern tip of the Baja California peninsula. Disorganized showers and thunderstorms extending from the coast of southeastern Mexico southward for a few hundred miles are associated with a trough of low pressure. Environmental conditions appear conducive for development of this system, and a tropical depression could form by the weekend while it moves slowly west-northwestward near the coast of Mexico. * Formation chance through 48 hours...low...10 percent. * Formation chance through 5 days...medium...60 percent. $$ Forecaster Cangialosi
