For our customer in Darmstadt we are looking for Ground System Engineers in order to support ground station engineering related activities of future ground segments and maintenance activities for current programs in the earth observation area. The Ground System Engineer will be involved in activities related to ground segment developments in the areas of ground stations, RF and telecommunications. Tasks and Responsibilities The main tasks of the Ground Station Engineer will be To follow up of the detailed design and development activities of Phase CD of the future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications Engineering activities of Phase B of future ground segments in the areas of Ground Stations, RF and Telecommunications Maintenance and evolution in phase E to current programmes in the areas of Telecommunications, RF and Ground Stations. In the performance of these tasks, the candidate shall apply the relevant organizational and programmatic quality management procedures as well as the relevant ground stations system engineering standards. Skills and Experience Profile The following skills and experience are mandatory. University degree in an engineering discipline relevant to the job profile Demonstrated experience in a similar function for at least 5 years in the following areas Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for TTC Ground stations system and subsystem design and development for mission specific andor satellite communications ground stations TTC baseband equipment and SLE compliant implementations Technical background in the specification In addition, the knowledge and experience of the following processesareas is considered as an asset Competence and experience in the engineering processes for managing requirements from the definition phase through the traceability, verification, validation and maintenance stages using formal methods and tools e.g. DOORs Design and requirements engineering of large and complex Earth Observation related ground stations Usage of High Data Rate Demodulators System experience with Link budget analysis and tools in S, X and Ka Band. Standard RF and microwave tools and SW package for generation of signal processing related simulations andor semiautomated measurement procedures.
