India's poor may soon get a taste of biryani

The country's poorest may get their first taste of world-famous basmati rice, a favourite of biryani connoisseurs. The government may sell basmati rice at Rs 3 a kg through ration shops to the country's poorest people as it has started purchasing paddy after rates fell below the minimum support price.
