NDP seeks debate on CWB sale

NDP MP Pat Martin says he is giving one more try at saving the Canadian Wheat Board from ending up in foreign hands. Martin on Monday will ask House of Commons Speaker Andrew Scheer to allow an emergency debate on the plan to sell a majority stake in the CWB to G3 Global Grains, a joint venture of the Canadian wing of the American agribusiness firm Bunge Ltd. and Saudi Agriculture and Livestock Investment Company Canada Ltd. "It is a faint hope, but we're going to go down swinging," Martin said.
