BusinessGreen: Environmental campaigners have stepped up calls for a moratorium on offshore drilling in the Arctic oceans, after a rig operated by Shell ran aground off Kodiak Island in Alaska.
The Kulluk rig broke free of Shell's Aiviq tug in stormy conditions last Thursday and after repeated failed attempts to restore the towing lines the rig ran aground on Sitkalidak Island off the southern end of Kodiak in water around 40ft deep.
