Sherwin-Williams Rings Up a Record

Protective and marine coatings helped, but its 4,003 paint stores delivered the biggest goods to give Sherwin-Williams "another year of record performance" in 2014. The Cleveland-based paint and coatings multinational posted a record $11.13 billion in consolidated net sales for the year ended Dec. 31. Net sales in the company's Paint Stores Group increased 14.2 percent to $6.85 billion for the full year and by 8.0 percent to $1.58 billion for the fourth quarter, due primarily to higher architectural paint sales volume across all end market segments, the coatings maker reported Thursday .
