Some gill nets banned in NC waters because of sea turtles

The state Department of Environmental Quality says waters in eastern Pamlico Sound and the northern part of Core Sound are closed to anchored, large-mesh gill nets. Estuarine waters in the northeastern part of the state are closed to all anchored gill nets.
