Environment News Service: Crude oil that spilled from a pipeline in the Gulf of Thailand on Saturday has blackened the majority of coral reefs near Koh Samet island`s Ao Phrao Beach and has spread to smaller islands nearby, according to local officials.
Around 50,000 liters (420 barrels) of crude oil spilled into the sea from a pipeline unloading an oil tanker around 20 kilometers (12 miles) off the coast of Rayong province and 230 km (140 miles) southeast of the Thai capital, Bangkok.
