Main Responsibilities The job holder will be part of the Serco AIV Team. The primary task is to support the Integration and Validation of software components in the frame of the NEO SSA contract. This may cover all areas of the system testing, such as Review of SW technical notes Requirements analysis and traceability to test cases and procedures Test documentation preparation Review and coordination of unit testing activities and related documentation Acceptance of Software components Tests execution and evaluation Analysis of SW issues in collaboration with Development team Generation and maintenance of technical documentation. The Ideal Candidate The candidate should have relevant education and experience in the related field along with the following Experience with Linux, Unix and shell scripting Experience with Python and Fortran language Experience with issue tracking systems and code version control systems Engineering degree similar with experience in software validation activities Knowledge of the ECSS standard Proven understanding of mathematical modeling celestial mechanics is an asset Experience in the definition and maintenance of user requirements for ESAs PDGS is an asset Fluency in English. The candidate we are looking for will support the engineering in the Optics Laboratory following these different activities below Optical system requirements specification, design, engineering, manufacturing and verification. General maintenance and servicing of optical, electro optical and electronics measurement equipment and instrumentation in order to assure that the relevant equipment is in an operational state. General operation and maintenance of the Optics Laboratory cleanroom. Procurement of laboratory materials, optical elements and components, chemicals and consumables. Contribution to the identification, selection and specification of new capital equipment, and execution of the annual laboratory investment plan. Installation and maintenance of computer software and hardware for measurement, data acquisition and analysis. The ideal candidate will have Competence in physics, optics, optical engineering. Project andor industrial experience in the design, engineering and testing and verification of various types of optical instrumentation. Solid experience in precision optical measurements at system, subassembly and component level. Good technical judgement, analytical and excellent verbal and written communication skills, in the English language. Experience in space project work, and of operations in a cleanroom environment. Knowledge and or experience in the use and application of the ISO 9000 series or ISO 17025 standards for quality management of test laboratories. Preference will be given to candidates eligible for an EU or national personal security clearance at the level of CONFIDENTIAL or above

NonMetallic Materials and Processes Engineer

The candidate we are looking for will follow these different activities below Acting as Project Focal Point with a nonmetallic materials and processes expert role for defined ESA projects, reporting to the Projects Engineering as well as Product Assurance and Safety Managers, including participation to Projects meetings, reviews and audits Supporting Materials and Processes reviews, Materials and Processes Control Boards MPCBs and participate as Engineering andor PA Board Member in ESA Programme reviews milestones including PRRs, SRRs, PDRs, CDRs, QARs, FRRs, etc. Reviewing Declared Materials, Parts and Processes Lists DMLs, DPLs, and DMPLs as well as RFAs, RFDsRFWs, ECPs, etc. Performing laboratory characterisation and verification for space use on spacecraft and launchers of a variety of nonmetallic materials including but not limited to ceramics, glasses, polymers, adhesives, coatings, composites and thermoplastics as well as all associated manufacturing processes Analysing the behaviour and perform failure investigation of nonmetallic materials and their associated manufacturing processes using a variety of laboratory equipment, among others NDI, physicchemical laboratory simulation, testing and analysis, thermal analysis, chemical analysis, physical and microscopic analysis, surface analysis, spectroscopic analysis, etc. The technical competence shall especially cover deep experience of the following materials classes and technologies Processingproduction, testing, and performance evaluation of carbonfibre reinforced composites. Processing e.g. joining, surface treatments, testing, and performance evaluation of metallic materials e.g. Alalloys, Tialloys. Processing of polymeric materials and their joining technologies. The ideal candidate will have Masters degree or equivalent qualification in materials engineering and science, materials physics or mechanical engineering, and at least 4 years experience in materials and processes engineering. Good knowledge about general materials test methodologies and especially experience in mechanical testing and fatigue life assessment. Experience in defining and executing test plans for materials qualification and process validation. Capability to take decisions for selection of materials and processes for space applications. Good interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to work effectively, autonomously and cooperatively in a diverse and international team environment, defining and implementing solutions in line with team and individual objectives, as well as project deadlines. Preference will be given to candidates eligible for an EU or national personal security clearance at the level of CONFIDENTIAL or above
