(Telecompaper) Vodafone Germany has introduced LTE Cat-6 services in parts of Berlin, Hamburg, Dresden, Munich and Hannover, offering customers mobile download speeds of up to 225 Mbps, teltarif.de reports. Faster speeds are due to be available in Leipzig, Stuttgart, Cologne, Düsseldorf, Essen, Frankfurt am Main and Dortmund over the next month, because of bundling of 800 MHz and 2,600 MHz frequencies. Only users with data-only tariffs are supposed to get the full speed; the current Red smartphone tariffs have a speed limit of 100 Mbps. Vodafone Germany trialled LTE-A in Dresden with Swedish vendor Ericsson, combining 10 MHz of 800 MHz spectrum and
20 MHz of 2.6 GHz spectrum.
