Measuring 85 x 110 x 200 mm, Model SLC offers wideband coverage of 2 MHz to 7 GHz. Device combines multi-Digital Direct Synthesis with Phase Locked Loop to achieve low jitter measurements down to -170 dBc/Hz at 10 MHz. Supporting single and dual configurations in same housing, synthesizer provides up to 135 dB SNR for ADC/DAC testing. Typical applications include particle colliders, digital semiconductor testing, and network time synchronization. This story is related to the following:Phase Locked Synthesizers |
USB transfer rates could rival Thunderbolt before long

Although data transfer rates on USB will double in the coming months, a standards-setting organization is researching ways to double that speed to 20Gbps. The USB Implementers Forum is finalizing the USB 3.1 specification, which will transfer data at 10Gbps, but the organization has also simulated speeds of 20Gbps, which would put USB in the same league as Thunderbolt 2 connector technology developed by Intel and Apple. USB is widely used to transfer data between devices and to charge electronics.
