Oracle gives Exadata some backward compatibility

Oracle has made it possible to run a much older but still widely used version of its database software on Exadata, in a move that could make heretofore reluctant buyers pull the trigger on a purchase of the data-processing appliance. Customers who are running Grid Infrastructure version 12.1.0.2 or later can now use Oracle's ACFS (Automated Storage Management Cluster File System) on Exadata, according to a blog post.

Oracle E-Business Suite upgrade points to its Fusion dilemma

Oracle has pushed out a major update to its E-Business Suite of applications, in a move that underscores the company's challenge of meeting customer needs while also persuading them to adopt its next-generation Fusion cloud software. E-Business 12.2.4 is now generally available and includes a wide array of enhancements to its many functional modules, tie-ins to some Oracle cloud applications and an overhauled user interface, according to Wednesday's announcement.

Oracle sues Oregon for $23M over healthcare exchange failure

Oracle Corp. filed a lawsuit Friday against the state of Oregon over claims that the state owes it $23 million in pay and damages for work the company did on Cover Oregon, the state's new health insurance exchange, PC World reported .

Oracle slaps Oregon with a lawsuit over troubled Obamacare website

Oracle has sued Oregon for breach of contract, seeking more than $20 million in fees the state is withholding for its work on Cover Oregon, a troubled insurance exchange website developed as part of President Barack Obama's health care policy overhaul. The move is a preemptive strike by Oracle against Oregon, whose governor, John Kitzhaber, has advocated suing Oracle.
