A company that wants to apply biosolids to a farm in Washington Township , Northampton County, says it does not need to adhere to the township's zoning ordinances but the zoning officer disagrees. Synagro Technologies Inc. informed the township about a year ago that it would be applying biosolids, a fertilizer made from human waste, to Glenn Hester's farm on Hester Road.

Nebraska opponents of the Keystone XL oil pipeline say they'll continue to fight the project even though the state's Supreme Court allowed its planned route to stand. Omaha attorney Dave Domina said Monday that landowners on the route can challenge the project again once pipeline developer TransCanada uses eminent domain to get access to their property.
