A former meat cutter at the Whole Foods meat in Westport filed a $15 million lawsuit against the company alleging that he was fired because he complained about the store selling tainted meat, according to the Connecticut Post. Angel Figueroa, 44, said in his lawsuit that he was fired a day after filing a complaint with the health department about employees not following hygienic practices, the Post said.

A local meat cutter has filed a $15 million lawsuit against Whole Foods saying he was fired from the Westport store after he complained the store was selling expired and tainted meat. In his lawsuit filed in Superior Court here, Angel Figueroa , 44, said he repeatedly complained to management at the store that the meat department staff were not following accepted hygienic practices in the care and treatment of the meat products and was fired one day after he filed a complaint with the local health department.

In a not unexpected move, beleaguered teen apparel retailer Pacific Sunwear of California Inc. filed for Chapter 11 bankruptcy court protection. In a court filing on Thursday in Delaware, the Anaheim, California-based retailer listed assets in the range of $50 million to $100 million and liabilities of between $100 million and $500 million.
