Environmental Services is applying for a noise variance to allow open trench work and cured-in-place pipe lining at locations within this project. A variance is required when work occurs outside normal construction hours, 7:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Monday through Saturday. Piedmont Sewer Repair Project Update: June 10, 2016

Environmental Services continues construction on the Piedmont Sewer Repair Project. The project will repair or replace almost 11,000 feet (over 2 miles) of public sewer pipes in your neighborhood that are on average 90 years old and deteriorating due to age. The work will also include repairing or adding over 2,000 feet of service laterals that connect houses and businesses from the curb to the public sewer in the street.

Lower Powell Green Street and Sewer Repair Project Update: June 7, 2016

Work has started on an Environmental Services project to replace and repair 4,508 feet of aging sewer pipe. The work includes constructing 22 green street planters and planting trees to absorb rain and reduce stormwater runoff. The project will keep about 1.6 million gallons of stormwater out of sewers annually, increase sewer system capacity and reduce basement backups.

Environmental Services your public sewer and stormwater services provider is designing a project to repair or replace public sewer pipes in the Woodlawn and King neighborhoods. Most of the sewer pipes are over 85 years old and are deteriorating due to age. The project will protect the public and the environment by reducing the possibility of sewage releases to homes, businesses and streets.
