BANGKOK, Dec 22 Auto sales in Thailand rose for the first time in more than 2-1/2 years in November, on an annual basis, but this appears to reflect a steering away from tax changes in 2016 rather than an improvement in domestic demand. Last month, auto sales rose 4.6 percent from a year earlier, the first such gain since May 2013, the Federation of Thai Industries said on Tuesday.

The cheaper fares prompted the budget airline on Tuesday to lower its forecast for revenue per available seat mile in the fourth quarter to between flat and down a percent, from an earlier forecast of up 1 percent, compared to a year earlier, causing Southwest's stock to fall 9 percent.

Sales of plug-in electric cars generally fall off a bit as the weather gets colder, and it's the same this year, with November sales slightly down on those of October. The new 2016 Chevrolet Volt continued strong, even though it's on sale only in California and a few other states, but weakness in the Nissan Leaf and BMW i3 was stronger.
