The settlement only binds Genuine Parts Company, the Atlanta-based company that owns and operates many NAPA stores in California, and does not apply to independently-owned NAPA stores. The lawsuit, in San Diego Superior Court, was filed after authorities from the county Department of Agriculture, Weights and Measures found several instances of customers being charged a higher price at cash registers than what was posted at the store displays, prosecutors said.

A $1.2 million settlement has been reached in a wrongful death lawsuit over a keg explosion at a New Hampshire brewery. The Portsmouth Herald reports 26-year-old worker Benjamin Harris died in April 2012 while pressurizing a plastic beer keg with air at the Redhook Ale Brewery in Portsmouth.
