An Ottawa lawyer is promising a "pitched battle" at the Ontario Municipal Board after an Ontario Superior Court judge dismissed an attempt by his client, a First Nation member, to stop the planned $1.2-billion redevelopment of the former Domtar lands along the Ottawa River. Judge Tom Lederer dismissed Stacy Amikwabi's civil lawsuit within four hours of the start of Monday's hearing after the parties swiftly agreed to settle the action without costs.
