An affiliate of Southern California-based Vista Investment Group acquired an office building on one of north San Jose's busiest corners earlier this month at a price more than double the last time the property traded six years ago. Vista paid about $29.25 million for the building at 3100 N. First St., according to a source with knowledge of the transaction.

PG&E has asked a federal judge to dismiss seven of the 28 counts that government prosecutors filed against the utility for its role in causing a fatal explosion of natural gas in San Bruno, and the court in the case says it will consider PG&E's request. Separately, San Francisco-based PG&E announced on Tuesday a sale of its stock to help pay for penalties imposed on it by state regulators.
