ROSS The second locomotive of a Burlington Northern train was struck by a pickup truck at 12:40 p.m. Sunday near Ross. Amy McBeth, a spokeswoman for Burlington Northern, said none of the train crew were injured.

Hawthorne Bridge closed Sunday for lift span work

The Hawthorne Bridge will be closed to motor vehicles on Sunday, November 15 from 5 am until as late as 5 pm during work on the lift span. Bridge sidewalks will remain open to pedestrians and bicyclists during the work. The drawbridge will be unable to open for river vessels during the work. The bridge will reopen to traffic as soon as the work is completed, which could be as early as noon. The work is not weather dependent.
