The Space Surveillance Tracking SST Support Framework supports the actions aimed at establishing an SST capability at European level with an appropriate level of European autonomy. Activities in the area of SST, aim to protect space infrastructure, facilities and services, which are essential for the safety and security of the economies, societies and citizens in Europe. With the objective of contributing to these activities, allowing the EU and its Member States to better access and use space in line with the EU Space Policy, the EU adopted, on 16 April 2014, the SST Decision in order to establish an SST Support Framework. This Framework is being implemented by the SST Consortium currently composed of five Member States in cooperation with the EU SatCen, in the provision of SST services e.g. satellite collision avoidance, inorbit fragmentation analysis, uncontrolled reentry of space objects prediction. For this, the EU SatCen is managing the EU SST Front Desk, and contributing to the interaction with potential and registered SST users. SatCen also plays an active role in other transversal areas within the SST Support Framework with the objective to consolidate a SST capability at European level. In this context, we are searching for enthusiastic colleagues to join the SSASST team, to contribute to our operational and technical work. JOB DESCRIPTION Responsible to the Head of SSA Unit to support the implementation of Capability Development activities and projects at the EU SatCen specifically in the SSA area. MAIN DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Assistance to operational and technical work for SSASST activities at the EU SatCen Assistance of tasks aimed at developing andor integrating operational procedures and service guides for users relevant to the provision of SST services e.g. satellite conjunction alerts, inorbit fragmentation, uncontrolled reentry of space objects, ensuring the involvement and coordination of internal and external actors Provision of first line support to the operational monitoring and management of the SST Service provision, including the handling of incidents and requests and user support Support to the development of tools for SST service provision monitoring and reporting Preparation of any additional material to support the promotion and usage of the provided SST services user uptake. Undertaking of additional duties, appropriate to the grade, as directed by the Head of SSA Unit and the Head of Division.

Support FOM developments with SSST and industry via SSST , via for example dedicated workshops. Contribute to Joint Operation Plan JORP and Operation Interface Control Documents OICD. Support definition of anomaly processing workflow with SSST and follow it. Define and put into place EUMETSAT MetOpSG simulator and simulations campaigns, Anomaly Reporting and NCR processing Support to SSST for Simulator factory acceptance testing and integration to MCS. Manage SIM scenarios, and support Ops Prep Simulations and SSVT validation. Define the nominal and contingency satellite simulator scenarios to ensure proper training of the teams involved in EUMETSAT simulation campaigns and SIOV routine operations rehearsals. Provide support to Spacecraft Ops Engineers in anomaly investigation phases and recovery procedures testing Simulation versus Satellite expertise. Ensure team training on Simulator usage. Plan, schedule, prepare and conduct the Rehearsal Sessions, including involvement of external support team, as required. Coordinate with Training Officer to assess Operational readiness of operation teams Ensure proper training of Simulator deputy within routine operation team. Focal point in the OPIT Team for coordination and interactions with SSST and external partners via SSST . Maintain Simulator operation guide and associated technical documentations The following skills and experience are mandatory Experience in the full cycle of development of application software for satellite simulators, following formal software engineering processes. This includes system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design and implementation reflecting maintenance activities as well as new applications definition. Experience in the definition and design of SMP2 compliant software models of spacecraft service platform subsystems DHS, AOCS, Thermal, Electrical,.... Knowledge and understanding with working experience of space related standards ECSS and CCSDS with specific reference to ECSSE7041A TM and TC packet utilization. Have demonstrated experience of working in a multipartner programme Experienced in supporting specific operation preparation phases such as SSVT, validation campaigns or rehearsals for routine operations or LEOP. Capability to lead simulation campaigns and assess teams readiness prior launch. Knowledge of Operation life cycle and Operation Preparation tools such as procedure editor and databases management tools. Possess excellent verbal and written communications skills and be confident to deal with a wide variety of people. Work in teams and good interpersonal skills to coordinate with team leaders and key stakeholders as well as in cooperation with industry and partner agencies. Work proactively with capability to lead a small team, with the minimum of supervision. Perform effectively under high workloads and be able to adapt to a rapidlychanging timecritical environment. OBSW maintenance expertise obtained in the development or operations of Low Earth Orbit. Spacecraft Operations Engineering obtained on an inorbit satellite or in an operations preparation environment Critical Operational phases such as LEOP, SIOV, and Commissioning phases. o Familiarity with procedure development toolset. Familiarity with system change control and configuration management procedures.
