Altice fined EUR 15 mln over Outremer Telecom sale

(Telecompaper) The French competition authority has fined Altice/Numericable EUR 15 million for not complying with several obligations related to its sale of Outremer Telecom in La Reunion and Mayotte, a condition for its acquisition of SFR. The commitments included maintaining the viability, market value and competitiveness of Outremer prior to its sale. But during the period in which the commitments applied, Outremer's tariffs rose by 17 to 60 percent, giving customers the opportunity to end their plans without incurring any cancellation fees. SFR said it contests the authority's analysis and reserves the right to appeal.
Exxon Mobil to pay New York $10.75 mln for oil spill cleanup

Exxon Mobil Corp will pay $10.75 million to reimburse New York state for oil spill cleanup and petroleum contamination removal costs at eight gas stations, including some dating to the 1930s, state officials said on Thursday. The payment will cover the New York Environmental Protection and Spill Compensation fund's costs including interest at the eight sites, whose locations are scattered across the state.

An Indonesian group has obtained a $750 million loan from two state-owned banks to help finance its purchase of a controlling stake in Newmont Mining Corp's Indonesian operations, Basis Point reported on Thursday. The two-year loan, which is equally split between PT Bank Mandiri Tbk and PT Bank Negara Indonesia Tbk , was signed last week, reported Basis Point, a Thomson Reuters publication, citing people familiar with the matter.
India raises Iran credit line to $450 mln

NEW DELHI: India's cabinet on Wednesday raised a credit line to Iran to $450 million as New Delhi aims to boost trade ties with Tehran after the lifting of international sanctions. The credit line, to be extended by the country's lending arm for the export of good and services, will help in supplying steel rails to Tehran.
Blackberry revenues drop to USD 464 mln on write-downs

(Telecompaper) Blackberry revenues for the fourth quarter fell to USD 464 million from 660 million the year before, pulled down by write-downs associated with recent acquisitions. The net result sank to a loss of USD 238 million or USD 0.45 per share, from a gain of 28 million or 0.05 per share, reflecting negative one-offs and amortisation, as well as pre-tax charges of USD 192 million related to restructuring and acquisition costs.
