APICS West Coast Student Case Competition draws 22 teams.

APICS Southwest District hosted 22 student teams and close to 100 students at the graduate and undergraduate level. Supply chain trade-offs of computer-simulated manufacturing company challenged students, most with backgrounds in operations management, supply chain management, industrial engineering, or MBA students, to select strategies, create solutions to problems, and provide rationale for decisions. Top awards went to San Diego State University for both undergrad and graduate competitions.

Nearly 5,000 students across USA are preparing for Team America Rocketry Challenge (TARC); 789 teams of secondary school students will vie for 100 spots in TARC national finals, which will be held May 14 outside of Washington, DC. According to AIA President and CEO David F. Melcher, "skills students discover and build while participating in this program will propel them to pursue education and careers in STEM fields, specifically in the aerospace industry."
