A vacancy for the Head of Telecoms Payload PL System Engineering mf has arisen within Airbus Defence Space in Toulouse. In relation to changes in key personnel, the organisation of the System Engineering division of the Telecoms Satellites Programmes has been revised, and two positions for a Head of PL Systems Engineering created, one based in Portsmouth and one in Toulouse. The position based in Toulouse will encompass all support to telecommunication PL RD, bids and projects, with RD and bids being the major part of the workload. While based in Toulouse, it will require a high level of travel to Portsmouth. Your main tasks and responsibilities will include contributing to the definition of the bid strategy, considering the current evolution of the product portfolio, encompassing Repeater and Antenna elements being responsible for driving the development of advanced Payload Systems solutions and competences across the Telecoms Satellites Programmes division being responsible for managing all RF Engineering competences and career development in Toulouse, and taking all necessary actions to best match the workforce to the workload 18 people taking responsibility for the efficiency of RF Engineering processes and tools in support of RD and bids, and for putting in place an organisational setup appropriate for the most efficient execution of these products and bids. This role will involve some travel for business 2 to 3 days, twice a month in Portsmouth and as such you must be able to travel accordingly. We are looking for candidates with the following skills and expertise Engineering diploma or equivalent 10 years of experience in RF Payloads design and performance matters Strong experience in the Telecommunication Space business Initial experience in technical team management andor project management Excellent people management, relationship, negotiation and communication skills Excellent sense of organisation and leadership Negotiation level of English French would be an asset.
