Satellite Simulator Software Engineering Support 1413006 Job Description The key person will provide hisher prime support to the evolution and maintenance of the EUMETSAT Spacecraft Simulators in general and in particular to SIMULUS based simulators The tasks of the key person will typically include Maintenance and Evolution Activities Preventive and corrective maintenance including the investigation and correction or following the corrections implemented by external contractors of anomalies in the software facilities and verification testing of the fixes. Evolutions and changes generation andor analysis of userdriven and maintenance driven software requirements, software design of the technical solutions, following the procurement of the changes with external contractors and verification testing of the changes. Maintenance test procedures generation and updates of maintenance test procedures at software facility level and at system level. Support and development of the verification infrastructure development andor procurement of scripts tools to perform installation checks, nonregression, functional and performance testing. Analysis and implementation of mechanisms or tools allowing the automatic or semiautomatic verification testing of the application software. Coordination of the production of new software releases or patches, delivery acceptance and installation onsite. This activity includes the technical coordination of the production by an external contractor of new releases or patches of the application software, liaison with the EUMETSAT operational users, participation to technical reviews, participation to infactory at contractor premises acceptance testing campaigns and coordination of the installation of the releases or patches onsite at EUMETSAT. Execution and coordination of software verification and nonregression testing campaigns. This activity includes preparation of test data, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, analysis of results and troubleshooting of problems. User Support Software support software support to the endusers of the application software. o Ensure operations continuity by provision of oncall services and software support to operations. Training prepare and provide training covering systemusage and maintenance aspects of the mission control systems. Technical Management Documentation generation and updates of technical documents. Meeting participation participation to technical, progress and team meetings as needed and requested. Routine reporting preparation and production of routine reports as necessary. Contractor management at technical level acting as point of contact with the contractor for technical discussions, organizing periodical technical meetings with the contractor. Critical review of industry provided requirements and design definition related to existing andor future simulators spacecraft models and simulator infrastructure components. Software engineering framework support Analysis activities focused on a common software engineering framework for the GSI Mission Control Applications and Tools Team. Development of tools implementing this software engineering framework. Required Skills and Experience Experience minimum 3 years in software maintenance and evolution of Spacecraft Simulators based on SIMULUS software suite from ESAESOC. In particular, experience in all the following SIMULUS components is considered mandatory SIMSAT, Ground Models, Generic Models, REFA, Emulator Suite and tailoring, UMFEGOSMF. Experience minimum 3 years in the definition and design of SMP2 compliant software models of spacecraft service platform subsystems DHS, AOCS, Thermal, Electrical,.... Knowledge and understanding with actual working experience of space related standards ECSS and CCSDS with specific reference to ECSSE7041A TM and TC packet utilization. Experience minimum 3 years in the full cycle of development of application software for SIMULUS based simulator, following formal software engineering processes. This includes system requirement analysis, software requirement engineering, software design and implementation reflecting maintenance activities as well as new applications definition. Experience minimum 3 years in corrective maintenance, integration and verification testing activities of application software following formal software engineering processes. This includes requirement verification, generation of test plan and test procedures, nonregression testing, generation of test data, generation of test tools, running the test procedures on the target system, generation of test reports, and anomaly tracking, investigation, correction and testing. Experience in defining automatic testing suites at unit and components integration level. Experience minimum 3 years in developing and maintaining software applications using Java and C programming languages under UNIX operating systems and development and maintenance of javascript scripts SIMULUS scripting technology. Experience minimum 3 years in developing and maintaining software applications using objectoriented technologies, Unified Modelling Language UML for software design and CASE design tools like Magic Draw. The official languages of EUMETSAT are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key person must be able to work effectively in this language and have knowledge of the other. Desirable Skills and Experience Experience with MICONYS ESOC components SCOS2000, NIS and SLE API. Experience on TMTC front ends like CORTEX Experience with software support to operations and in particular to TMTC database and OBSW images import Experience with technical management of contractors working at offsite premises and responsible for application software evolution and maintenance. Consultancy Support for Ground Segment Engineering 1413001 Job Description EUMETSAT ground segments typically consist of TTC and payload acquisition ground stations, mission control systems, data processing and archiving facilities, data dissemination facilities and the associated network elements. The Consultant will carry out tasks which support activities related to initially Phase B followed by phases CD of the EPSSG Programme in the area of ground segment engineering. In the role of support to the development of EPSSG Ground Segment, the tasks of the Consultant shall include Analysis of the EPSSG system requirements and contribution to the definition of the Ground Segment Requirements and subsystems requirements specification, taking into account the available services provided by MultiMission Elements and the reuse of existing generic infrastructure and element, promoting and ensuring the implementation of the Ground Segment reference architecture and maintainability requirements and standards defined by TSS for the future programmes. Definition of the EPSSG system architecture and interfaces between the EPSSG elements, the MultiMission Elements and reused elements Contribution to the generation of System Design Documents and Interface Control Documents Support the generation of IVV related concepts and documents, including integration and verification plans and preliminary verification control documents. Dissemination Operations Engineering Support 1413002 Job Description As a member of the Realtime Services System Operations Division, the Key person shall provide support to the routine monitoring, development and operation of the current and future EUMETSAT dissemination systems.
