Devices offer tolerances of 1% and 5%, TCR of ±100 ppm/K and ±200 ppm/K, and resistance range from 100 kΩ to 10 MΩ. With high temperature operation up to +155°C, RoHS-compliant resistors are suitable for power supplies, battery chargers, vacuum tubes, and converters.

Micrel, which was founded in 1978 and has been run since by cofounder and CEO Raymond Zinn, has agreed to be purchased for $14 a share by Microchip Technology, an Arizona-based chip firm.

The global chip market continued to be a tale of contrasting fortunes with Europe and Japanese markets contracting and the Americas and China enjoying double-digit percentage annual growth, according to the Semiconductor Industry Association , reporting data compiled by the World Semiconductor Trade Statistics organization. The three-month average of global chip sales in March was $27.71 billion, an increase of 6.0 percent compared with the equivalent figure from a year before, the SIA said.
