The boss of Australia's biggest agribusiness, Graincorp, is optimistic the federal government will be more welcoming to foreign investment after the ousting of former prime minister Tony Abbott and treasurer Joe Hockey. Mr Hockey attracted heavy criticism from the business community - and even his Victorian Coalition colleagues - after he knocked back a $3 billion bid for Graincorp from US agriculture giant Archer Daniels Midland in November 2013.

Taiwan's stock market posted a net capital inflow of US$856 million last week and a net inflow of US$5.06 billion so far this year, the latter of which exceeded figures of all emerging economies in Asia.
