Key Tasks and Responsibilities In this role you will offer support to the Data Processing Systems and Applications team for activities related to Ground Segment System Engineering Phase B to E for several new missions in preparation, and have the following responsibilities Data processing system engineering for supporting Integration, Verification Validation IVV activities at the level of test plan definition, test specification and test coordination Followup on the facility suppliers activities and Review of the data pack delivered for the reviews Support preparation of deliverables to the contractors and data pack for the OGS CDR and possibly other intermediate checkpoints Tests and acceptance phases preparation Contribute to the maintenance activities, including characterisation of system component behaviour against required performance, proposal and implementation of system alterations Contribute to the evolution activities, including conceptual design, requirements specification, functional modelling, system analysis, and concept development to support increased performance, rationalisation of components, and cost reduction Contribute to raising, processing and coordinating anomalies, their documentation, investigation, classification and resolutionmitigation, including participation in relevant Anomaly Review Boards. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in a discipline relevant to the job profile Preparation of requirements, design, interfaces and testing documentation for data processing systems for Earth Observation missions experience on data processing for high data rates missions will be considered an asset including relation between requirements, ICDs, design and testing documentation L1L2 processing software for Earth Observation missions, either for operationsmaintenance or specification and development UNIXLinux operating systems IBM DOORS tool or an equivalent for requirements management Validating complex remote sensing data processing systems ECSS and CCSDS standards Knowledge andor experience of quality control, instrument calibration and IVV Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of another European language is an advantage. Help us to prepare and support the operations preparations activities for our Meteosat Third Generation MTG satellites. The Role This is an outstanding opportunity to become involved in one of our most exciting and important future missions. In this role you will be the technical lead for the System Validation Tests involving the different modes of satellites and both our and the LEOP service providers Control Centres. You will also coordinate the coengineering of the satellite operations preparation in readiness for our partners to prepare and launch our MTG satellites. EUMETSAT will take over the operations responsibility after the LEOP phase and during this preparatory phase you will ensure our responsibilities to the LEOP service provider are delivered on time. You will assess the viability of the space and ground segment developments to ensure that we deliver a safe and efficient operational service after launch. You will represent EUMETSAT and work with our partners to support them in the run up to the satellites going live. You will have worked on at least one LEOP and have experience of the operations preparations phase of an Earth Observation satellite mission. A knowledge of SCOS mission control systems would be an asset. You need to be aware of industry standards, with the capacity to understand complex issues in an operational environment. Capable of being calm in a fastpaced environment, you will need to be able to communicate effectively under pressure, being aware of the conflicting interests of every stakeholder. You can manage complex technical concepts and need to ensure that these are presented simply in formal documents and verbal presentations so that all databases and procedures are updated in line with operational developments.
