Your Tasks The Engineer will provide service to the Meteosat Spacecraft Operations Team. The tasks in the area of SC platform routine operations and operations preparation will typically include Familiarisation with the MSG satellite design and operations procedures as necessary Contribution to the conduct of routine operations of the inorbit MSG spacecraft. Provision of Satellite Operations Engineer oncall service Performance evaluation and trend analysis to monitor the inflight behaviour of the spacecraft, including support to yearly and specific operations reviews e.g. eclipses, reconditioning, manoeuvres, decontamination, etc Contribute for both current and future missions to the production and maintenance of Automated and Manual procedures, Operational databases Special Operations Instructions SOIs, Other operational documentation e.g. SOE Guide, Contingency Operations Guide etc. Contribution to the maintenance of the MSG Flight Operation Manual Contribution of SubSystem expertise for the Satellite Simulator maintenance and engineering for current and future missions Contribution to the satellite monitoring and control facility operations team and maintenance team to ensure that the facility, including the telemetry analysis tools, is always fit for its purpose Participation to the activities related to the MSG Routine Operations Support provided by the MSG satellites manufacturer Analysis and investigation of operational events and anomalies particularly relating to the operations of the MSG Spacecraft and associated ground segment elements Preparation and production of routine reports as necessary Participation in the preparation and specification of ground system updates including the MC systems and monitoring analysis tools Preparation and review of technical notes and attendance at technical meetings and reviews Preparation presentation of Flight Ops Team training material regarding SC Operations. Contribution to the MTG system operations development for SC operations related topics. Contribution to the implementation, test and reviews of the different operations related elements of the MTG system including satellites and ground segments. Contribution to the MTG operations preparations activities, mainly at Space Segment level but including also Ground Segment aspects. Participation to the preparation and execution of the Operational System Validation activities also including SVTs, rehearsals and the necessary training activities for the various operations personnel prior to system commissioning. Contribute to the definition andor review of MTG commissioning activities. Your Profile In addition to having a University degree or equivalent in a relevant discipline, the key person shall have proven experience of spacecraft operations. Furthermore, it would be a distinct advantage for the key persons to have experience with some of the following Operations andor design of satellite Payload for earth observations. Operations preparation of a satellite project. Routine spacecraft operations for Geostationary missions The key person shall be able to conduct all activities in an orderly and disciplined manner, demonstrating analytical approach and attention to detail and shall be able to work calmly and correctly under stress and must be able to work without supervision. The official languages are English and French. The working language for the position is English and therefore the key persons must be able to work effectively in this language. Specific Tasks The requested profile is an Operation Maintenance of RF Payloads Systems Technician. Assist with the integration, configuration and running of RF test equipment andor RF test setups employed in evaluating the performance of RF subsystems or instruments for space application such as o Atomic Clocks and Time and Frequency Test beds. o Navigation payloads. o Linear and Nonlinear characterisation of subsystemsdevices. o Life limited RF payload equipment. o PIM performance, multipactor performance and high power evaluation. o Remote sensing space born radar Calibration transponders. o TTC and Communication test beds. Development of software using VEE andor Lab View for automated testing, control and monitoring of RF performance. General laboratory support such as, scheduled maintenance, calibration of the laboratory equipment, continuous upgrade of test facilities, replacement of consumables, design of mechanical housings, thermal plates and test jigs for RF circuits. Maintaining the Divisional TECEF equipment inventory list, which involves useoperation of dedicated software for traceability and control of inventory including lent out equipment. Organisation and maintenance of laboratory library, which includes documentation operating manuals, test reports and general documentation. Requirements Technical dregree Bsc Diploma or equivalent from a recognised institution or equivalent. A strong background in RF, microwave and millimetre wave technologies and experience in preparation of test setups, integration and testing of RF Equipment Active, Passive, timefrequency references and RF Payloads. Good experience with LabViewVee Pro and tools for automated testing, control and monitoring of RF performance. Good working knowledge of Thermal Vacuum chamberssystems is required. Experience in maintenance and calibration of general RF laboratory test equipment and instrumentation.

This role provides you with a unique opportunity to undertake realtime Spacecraft Operations on a highprofile meteorological satellite fleet in geostationary orbit. You will also work in parallel as an Operations Preparations Engineer to prepare for the operations of the next generation of spacecraft. Working as part of a highly technical and coordinated engineering team you should be true team player. We expect you to be willing and able to provide cover and support to your colleagues and undertake occasional call out responsibilities. Some experience of interfacing to Flight Dynamics and Mission Planning teams would also be beneficial.
