For our customer in Darmstadt we are looking for System VV Engineers to support current and forthcoming Earth observation missions. Tasks and Responsibilities The tasks of the System VV Engineer shall include the following activities supporting the definition, development and implementation of evolutions to the mission ground segment in line with the ground segment requirements supporting the definition and execution of the functional verification and operational validation of the ground segment Ground Segment VV, coordinating where possible with other ground segment activities supporting the definition, planning and execution of System Verification and Validation System VV activities, taking advantage of ground segment verification and validation where possible, against the system requirements and mission operations concept supporting the execution of operations preparation activities for the ground segment against the mission operations concept supporting preparations for, and execution of, key system reviews and milestones such as the System Integration, Verification and Validation Readiness Review SIVVRR and Review SIVVR, Launch Operations Readiness Review LORR, and others. Skills and Experience The Key Person, while expected to work as part of a closeknit team, is required to have the experience and capability to fulfil the assigned tasks with the minimum of supervision and minimum training. In addition to a university degree in a relevant technical discipline such as engineering or physics the Key Person shall have a background including the following mandatory skills and experience at least three years experience in the execution of integration, verification and validation IVV of spacecraft systems andor their operational ground segment, including the preparation of system andor ground segment verification and validation plan and specification documentation, and VV test cases tracing of system requirements through to analyses andor executed VV testing at least two years experience in the operations or operations preparation of an operational ground segment. In addition, it would be a distinct advantage for the Key Person to have experience of the following demonstrable experience in the application of configuration management and quality assurance principles to space systems andor their operational ground segments demonstrable experience in spacecraft and or ground operations preparation activities demonstrable experience in the coordination of test activities involving collaborations with internal andor external partners Finally, the applicant shall have a systematic approach to work, be able to plan hisher work and to cope with tight schedules and multiple tasks. Tasks and Responsibilities Typical activities to be undertaken include the following Contribution to general system engineering activities Analysis and trade off activities Preparation and maintenance of system technical specification Documentation of system design and justification Ad hoc internal reviews System level formal reviews Ground segment level activities as required Support to IVV activities. Skills and Experience Applicants shall have a university degree in the domain of engineering, science, or equivalent and at least 5 years of experience in the field of engineering of space and or ground systems. The following skills are highly desired not all of them need to be covered by a single applicant Experience of Satellite Monitoring and Control using ECSS PUS standards services. Capability to prepare system requirements and design documents, and to perform systemlevel analyses for complex polar satellite systems. Experience of requirements management using formal configuration control proceduresprocesses. Experience of writing technical requirements preferably to ECSS standards. Experience of establishing and maintaining traceability between different levels of technical specifications. Experience of interface management and definition. Familiarity with mechanisms and tools for detailed interface definition. Demonstrated capability to prepare and manage ICD. Experience in system modelling. Experience of interface management and definition. Following experience would be additional assets Familiarity with the CORE design tool from Vitech. Familiarity with Model Based Systems Engineering MBSE. Experience with DOORs.
