SE Water Avenue Stormwater Outfall Urgent Replacement Project

Environmental Services will begin construction the week of August 22nd to replace about 500 feet of 12-18 inch pipe which conveys stormwater from a central eastside neighborhood to the Willamette River. The existing pipe is deteriorating and the new pipe will efficiently convey stormwater to the river. This project will reduce the risk of flooding and stormwater backups in this area.

Environmental Services is designing a project to replace a deteriorating, 12-inch pipe which conveys stormwater runoff from a central eastside neighborhood to the Willamette River. The existing pipe runs from the intersection of SE Water Avenue and Clay Street to the river. Replacing the pipe will reduce the risk of leaks and backups. Environmental Services is still designing the project, including the alignment of the new pipe.

Coos Bay Wastewater Treatment Plant outfall found deteriorating, city says

The City of Coos Bay is working with the Oregon Department of Environmental Quality and other regulatory agencies to coordinate a repair after officials learned that the outfall serving Wastewater Treatment Plant Number 2 has deteriorated. The deterioration was found at the end of the outfall, approximately 860 feet from the shore, the city says.
