Gilmour Space Technologies is a young and innovative space engineering company in Australia that is building a new breed of low cost hybridengine rockets for the small payload market. The company, which has operations in Queensland and Singapore, plans to launch its first commercial small launchers to suborbital space by end 2018, and to Low Earth Orbit by 202021. Head of Engineering, Australia Our hybrid rocket engine program has achieved a number of significant milestones to date, including successful engine firings and test flights using proprietary 3D printed materials. The Head Engineer will lead the development of our suborbital and orbital space launch vehicles. Job Requirements She will lead a team of approximately 1720 engineers in our Australian operations and be responsible for maintaining the SRR to TRR design processes, and working with company seniors on the overall design of our launch vehicles. Interactions with government departments and other industry players will be required, as well as participation in future funding discussions. Successful candidates should have a minimum of 15 years of relevant experience, including work on complete flight systems from design and testing to implementation. Software skills and work with avionics a plus. Project management and milestone attainment should be demonstrated. Mechanical or aerospace engineering degree at a minimum. Masters is preferred.
