The Australian makers of the A famous WinneA bago campervans and caravans face paying out tens of millions in royalties to its U.S. namesake in a court ruling that threatens the financial survival of the company. The Australian reported that the Federal Court ruled the Australian manufacturer of Winnebago vehicles should pay 1% of all vehicle sales A between 2004-10 to American Winnebago Industries Inc. While the U.S. Winnebago firm had been manufacturing RVs under the name since 1959, an Australian company had been making the Winnebago-branded motorhomes for sale in Australia since 1978 without the permission of the U.S. entity.

Senate investigation: Maker of breakthrough drug for hepatitis C sought to maximize revenue

The makers of a breakthrough drug for hepatitis C put profits before patients in pricing the $1,000 pill that cures the liver-wasting disease, Senate investigators said Tuesday. A bipartisan report from the Senate Finance Committee concluded that California-based Gilead Sciences was focused on maximizing revenue even as the company's own analysis showed a lower price would allow more patients to be treated.
