America Movil to launch Claro unit for US businesses

(Telecompaper) Mexican telecommunications giant America Movil has announced plans to launch a US-based unit offering services for business customers via its Claro brand. In a statement, the company said its Telmex USA unit will change its name to Claro Enterprise Solutions while increasing its service portfolio to target businesses of all sizes, from small companies to large multinationals. "Our customers will benefit from a seamless and robust integration of America Movil's global network, operations and service delivery across the Americas and Europe," said Claro Enterprise Solutions CEO Jorge Rodriguez.

The unit is planning to launch driverless fleet next year. The deal is subject to regulatory approval.Meanwhile, Waymo is planning to buy 62,000 more Fiat Chrysler (FCA) cars for its driverless robotaxi service, with delivery expected late this year.
