The Oregon Department of Environmental Quality has levied a $12,000 fine on Hillsboro company EG Metals , a recycler of scrap metal and electronic waste, the state agency announced Monday. The business, located at 620 S.W. Wood St., failed to minimize the exposure of processed electronic waste to rain, snow, snowmelt and runoff, as required by a pollution control plan, according to a DEQ news release .
