FAA announced that the Republic of Serbia complies with International Civil Aviation Organization safety standards and has been granted Category 1 rating. With International Aviation Safety Assessment Category 1 rating, Republic of Serbia's air carriers, which are able to secure requisite FAA and DOT authority, can establish service to the United States and carry code of U.S. carriers. FAA published Federal Register notice on its interpretation of statutory special rules for model aircraft in FAA Modernization and Reform Act of 2012. In the notice, FAA restates law’s definition of "model aircraft," including requirements that they not interfere with manned aircraft, be flown within sight of operator, and be operated only for hobby or recreational purposes.
