Civil penalty proposed by FAA against Hawaiian Airlines, Inc. involves alleged operation of one Boeing 767-300 not in compliance with Federal Aviation Regulations. FAA Completes Nationwide Equipment Installation for NextGen Aircraft Tracking System

FAA completed nationwide infrastructure upgrade, part of Next Generation Air Transportation System, that will increase efficiency and reliability with which air traffic controllers track aircraft while simultaneously providing pilots with more information in cockpit. Automatic Dependent Surveillance-Broadcast (ADS-B) radio network supports satellite-based surveillance system that tracks aircraft with aid of GPS.
