IE10 pushes past predecessor to take second place among Microsoft's browsers

IE10 (Internet Explorer 10) jumped into second place among Microsoft's browsers last month, pushing past IE9 through an enforced upgrade. IE10's user share climbed from 16.5 percent to a record 24 percent of all copies of Internet Explorer in June, according to Web measurement firm Net Applications.

Zynga poaches Microsoft's Mattrick to replace Pincus as CEO

(Telecompaper) Social gaming company Zynga has appointed Microsoft's Don Mattrick as CEO, effective 8 July. Zynga's founding CEO, Mark Pincus, stays on as chairman of the board and chief product officer. Industry veteran Mattrick spent six years at Microsoft, the last three as president of the interactive entertainment business, and was previously with Electronic Arts for 15 years. Pincus said Zynga's new CEO "deeply understands the value of a network and the importance of creating lifelong consumer relationships. He turned Xbox into the world's largest console-gaming network, growing its installed base from 10 to 80 million and transformed that business from deep losses to substantial profits".
