One of our clients is looking for a dynamic and motivated Space Propulsion Engineer to support the current development of their first Geostationary Telecoms spacecraft. Propulsion Engineers for this client are responsible for the design, manufacture, testing, launch preparation and inorbit commissioning of their propulsion systems. This holistic oversight is a rare opportunity for an Engineer who relishes variety and the combination of practical contact with hardware alongside analytical design work. In addition to delivering commercial programmes, exciting development activity underway at our client includes design of novel green propulsion systems, high power resistojet designs, additive layer manufacturing 3D printing and low cost electric propulsion system working with its partners in the UK. Detailed design and subsystem analysis to include Pressurant analysis, fluidic simulationsflow characterisation, LAE performance propellant static and dynamic residuals, onstation thruster performance, propellant gauging analysis and support to susbsystem thermal and plume impingement analysis. Assembly and testing of the propulsion systems. Support component system acceptance testing, defining pressure electrical test setups including the software interface via Labview or similar. Definition of thermal requirements Interface Control Documents. Design support for the Propulsion Controller requirements definition. Produce detailed mathematical modelling tools for the bipropellant subsystem validate by test. Plan and carry out development testing Flow characterisation, waterhammer, regulator testing. Produce the required subsystem analysis test reports Experience and Knowledge Skills Experience in design analysis of MMHMON bipropellant propulsion systems. Good all round knowledge of rocket propulsion systems, with an understanding of the functionality of thrusters, valves, regulators, etc. Good analytical skills with experience of mathematical modelling simulation software. A good understanding and handson experience of propulsion test GSE and test instrumentation, including set up programming. An appreciation of Electronics and Electrical Engineering. Writing detailed reports, and presenting at internal peer reviews and external customer reviews.
