Wartsila Propulsion and Design for Two OSVs

Two new 150-ton-bollard-pull anchor handling offshore support vessels being built at the Colombo Dockyard in Sri Lanka have been designed by Wrtsil and will be powered by Wrtsil integrated propulsion systems. The order was placed in August and the equipment is scheduled for fast-track delivery in July 2015.

Propulsion Engineers Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our client is a global firm with product portfolio including a range of apogee engines, monopropellant and bi propellant thrusters. On joining our clients engineering team you will work across the end to end propulsion system. Working with the Chief Engineer and a small team of expert engineers, your activities will include Feasibility Proof of Concept Studies on new propulsion technology Design for Manufacture and Design for Value analysis across the product line Design and build of test equipment for Thrusters and Apogee Engines Development and execution of thruster test procedures Analysis of test results and recommendations for improvements. Skills Experience Roles are available for both experienced engineers and graduates. All applicants will have the following qualifications Mechanical, Chemical or Aerospace Engineering degree or equivalent an MSc in Space Engineering is desirable Experienced Applicants Experience working on rocket propulsion systems including one of design, development or test phases. Understanding of Design for Value andor design for Manufacture Techniques Graduate Applicants Interest in propulsion demonstrated through thesis selection andor optional module selection Person Type You will enjoy working in a small team where you are given the opportunity to work across all areas of a project.
