For Astrium in Heilbronn Lampoldshausen we are looking for a Head of Orbital Propulsion Quality fm within the area Propulsion Equipement Quality. Your responsibilities will include Leading and managing the Orbital Propulsion Quality department and its team members including product assurance, quality assurance, configuration management and documentation management areas Identifying and implementing improvements in the scope of the department and taking part in improvement programmes beyond the scope of the department Holding regular meetings with the leadership team of the organisational unit Ensuring regular contact on a management level with the respective counterparts of customers and suppliers Performing qualityrelated operational tasks including supply quality management in the scope of Orbital Propulsion Quality We are looking for candidates with the following skills Degree in Engineering or similar Basic knowledge of manufacturing processestechnologies e.g. for assessment of root causes andor manufacturing process failure mechanisms as well as in configuration management Basic knowledge of company process development, application including measurement and improvement Good knowledge of and experience in applying the methods and tools needed for quality management e.g. FMEAFMECA, 8DMethod, Root Cause Analysis methods and Statistical Process Control would be an advantage Knowledge and proven experience in Lean 6 Sigma methodologies would be an advantage A quick understanding of technical products, their key functions and critical aspects in manufacturing, assembly, integration and testing would be an advantage Leadership experience Language skills fluent negotiation level in English and German If you are interested in this position, please apply online via www.jobs.eads.com. Senior System Engineer for Mechanical, Thermal and Propulsion Subsystems Key Tasks and Responsibilities Our customer is a European leading system house, specialized in development and implementation of high technology solutions for aerospace, science and industry. In this role you will have the following responsibilities Technical responsibility for the MTP subsystems integrity, thus for system level activities including requirements engineering, mechanical configuration, structural design, thermal design and performance and propulsion design Control of the mechanical, thermal and propulsion engineering budgets Definition, planning and control of the mechanical, structural and thermal analysis to be performed in cooperation with the specific discipline specialists Definition, planning and control of MTP verification, including specification of test requirements Control of the mechanical and thermal interfaces for satellite and subsystems Coordinating with the Lead System Engineer Leading an engineering team within the project, including management of subcontractors involved in system level activities. Skills Experience You will have the following qualifications and relevant experience University degree or equivalent in mechanical engineering, physics or other relevant field Several years of professional experience in space industry as MPT System Engineer or in a similar position Specialised knowledge in the fields of satellite structures, thermal control and propulsion subsystems preferably biprop systems as well as analysis Working knowledge of structural, thermal and orbit dynamics analysis tools e.g. NASTRAN, ESARADESATAN, Ecosim Pro Several years of experience in Phase CD of a satellite project Ideally, experience in ESA satellite development projects Excellent conceptual and analytical skills Excellent communication and leadership skills Fluency in English is mandatory knowledge of German is an advantage.
