Spun polyester prices are now bottoming in China, in line with a slight rise of polyester staple fiber prices whereas viscose fiber and spun yarn prices are falling by contrast. Yarn import prices are depressed by the sharp decline of the renminbi. Our weekly report covers the China yarn domestic and import market indicators, as well as local market prices in Qianqing and Shaoxing (Zhejiang). Prices of a large number of counts are released for spun cotton, polyester, viscose and blends. Import prices are also available for yarns from India, Indonesia, Pakistan, and Vietnam. Cotton yarn prices are very slightly declining on the domestic market in China in line with weaker seasonal trends in the summer. Cotton yarn import prices have been significantly lowered in order to take into account the fall of the renminbi.
