Jeep drivers dying in gas tank fires 18 months into recall

Eighteen months into a recall of Jeeps with exploding gas tanks, drivers of the affected models are still dying and more than 1 million of the vehicles remain unfixed. A top safety regulator has called the slow pace of repairs "woeful" and demanded that executives do more to reach owners of the affected Jeep Liberty and Grand Cherokee models, which can catch fire after being rear-ended.

Swedish telecoms equipment vendor Ericsson is using this week's International Consumers Electronics Show in Las Vegas to showcase its latest product and technology that it says will offer data hungry smartphone users concurrent access to both licensed and unlicensed spectrum. Set to be part of its small cells line-up, the company is readying a device in its 6402 series of Radio Dot picocells to which it has added a technology dubbed Licensed Assisted Access .

Bloomberg: Crews in South Australia are battling to stabilize wildfires and protect homes as hot weather forecast in coming days threatens to fan the flames. Firefighters used planes from neighboring Victoria in an effort to gain control of the blaze that has destroyed or damaged 26 homes. The Country Fire Service warned temperatures would reach 38 degrees Celsius (100 Fahrenheit) on Jan. 7 before cooling, while the Insurance Council of Australia declared a catastrophe.
