The driver who couldn't start the getaway car after a Forrest Road auto parts store armed robbery made a deal Wednesday to avoid a life sentence. Because he had two prior felonies on his record, 22-year-old Byron Brooks was facing life in prison after his conviction for assisting in the Aug. 27, 2013, armed robbery of the Advance Auto Parts store at 5421 Forrest Road.
