General Mills Inc. on Thursday reported fiscal second-quarter earnings of $529.5 million, according the Associated Press , or 87 cents a share, up from $346.1 million, or 56 cents, a year earlier. Excluding a loss stemming from the aforementioned divestiture and stripping out restructuring costs, among other items, per-share profit rose to 82 cents from 80 cents.

Hawaiian Airlines rises in punctuality rankings

Hawaiian Airlines moved up toward the top and took second place in October for punctuality among the nation's top 13 carriers after two consecutive months of sub-par performance. The state's top carrier ranked second overall in on-time performance with a rating of 90.7 percent, trailing just Delta Air Lines at 92.1 percent, according to data released today by the U.S. Department of Transportation.
